Sociodemographic characteristics of people receiving food assistance, Abena study, 2004–2005.

The nutritional status of people living in precarious circumstances is most often estimated based on studies that analyze, within the general population, the relationship between lower socioeconomic status and dietary behaviors. The Unit for Nutritional Surveillance and Epidemiology (USEN) developed the Study on the Diet and Nutritional Status of Food Aid Recipients (ABENA) to partially and initially address this need for data, particularly within the framework of the Food and Integration Plan (PAI). The objective of this article is to present the main sociodemographic characteristics of the individuals included in the Abena study. (Introduction)
