    June 19 to 28, 2026 (departments were placed under orange or red heat wave alerts).
  • A regional analysis of emergency care utilization shows an increase in the composite health indicator iCanicule (which includes cases of hyperthermia, dehydration, and hyponatremia) during this heat wave across all data
    sources (SOS Médecins calls, emergency
    department visits, and hospitalizations following emergency department visits).
  • This trend affected all age groups, and the majority of the
    region’s departments were affected, including those under a yellow heatwave
    alert (Mediterranean coastline).
  • Subject to the completeness of the data available as of June 30, these surveillance indicators have now shown a decrease compared to previous days.
