For what types of missions can the Health Reserve be mobilized?
The Health Reserve can be rapidly mobilized for generally short-term missions:
missions to bolster healthcare or medical-social services, particularly when an exceptional health situation persists (epidemic, heat wave, population influx, etc.);
repatriation or evacuation missions during political unrest or natural disasters;
missions to reinforce call centers for victims, their loved ones, and the general public;
missions to provide support and prevention during large public gatherings;
expertise and coordination missions.
The request for mobilization is made by a third-party authority: the Ministry of Health, at the request of another ministry if applicable (Foreign Affairs, Defense, Interior, etc.), or by a regional health agency.
