Key Points

  • In week 43 (October 24–30, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to rise among children under 2 years of age (+10%, or +829 visits) and remained stable or declined in other age groups.

  • The increase in cases for all seasonal respiratory indicators continues among children under 2, notably including an increase in bronchiolitis with levels higher than in previous years (+11%, or +203 cases), asthma attacks (+25%, or +34 cases), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+9%, or +404 cases). Also among children under 2 and those aged 75 and older, though at moderate levels, there is an increase in cases for influenza/influenza-like illness (+33% and +81%, or +12 and +25 cases, respectively) and acute bronchitis (+11% and +7%, or +54 and +28 cases). Procedures for pneumonia are also on the rise among children under 15 and those aged 15–74 (+15% and +7%, or +49 and +21 procedures, respectively). Only procedures for suspected COVID-19 are declining among children (-38%, or -245 procedures) and adults (-23%, or -710 procedures).

  • Among other indicators, we note the increase in procedures for vomiting among those aged 75 and older (+51%, or +20 procedures), depression among those aged 45–64 (+49%, or 20 more cases), conjunctivitis among those aged 15–74, with levels higher than in previous years (+10%, or 40 more cases), and urinary tract infections (+9%, or 170 more cases) for the second consecutive week.
