Key Points

• In week 41 (October 10–16, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly among 2- to 14-year-olds (+5%, or +1,252 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

• Regarding seasonal respiratory indicators: there was an increase across all age groups for influenza/flu-like illness (+16%, or +260 cases) and, specifically among children, an increase in cases of acute bronchitis (+16%, or +298 cases) and pneumonia (+22%, or +50 cases). After five consecutive weeks of increases, cases involving suspected COVID-19 have declined slightly (-5%, or -204 cases); this decline applies to children under 2 and adults aged 15–74, while levels remain stable for children aged 2–14 and adults aged 75 and older.

• Among children, there was an increase in visits for viral syndrome (+15%, or +95 visits) and for isolated fever (+20%, or +89 visits) among those aged 2–14. Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis continued to rise (+44%, or +173 visits), with levels higher than in previous years; there was also an increase in visits for asthma (+18%, or +19 visits).

• Among other indicators, the increase in procedures for infectious conjunctivitis continues among children under 15 (+18%, or +134 procedures) and among those aged 15–74 (+7%, or +24 procedures), with levels higher than in previous years.
