Key points:

  • In week 47 (November 20–26, 2023), activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to rise among children under 15 (+13%, or 4,731 more visits) and remained stable among adults.

  • Regarding seasonal respiratory indicators, an increase in procedures is observed across all age groups, though generally more pronounced among children:

    • At levels higher than those observed in previous years for pneumonia, with the increase continuing among children (+18%, or +131 cases) and adults (+14%, or +112 cases);

    • At levels equivalent to those observed in previous years:

      • in children under 2 years of age: for bronchiolitis (+33%, or +252 cases)

      • all ages: for acute bronchitis (+22%, or +1,127 cases), influenza/flu-like illness (+21%, or +767 cases), suspected COVID-19 infection (more pronounced among adults: +22% or +505 cases vs. +11% or +34 cases among children) and upper respiratory tract conditions (+13% or +4,210 cases for all ages except those aged 75 and older).

  • Among other conditions, notable increases in children include allergy-related visits among those under 2 years old (+40%, or +39 visits) and conjunctivitis among those under 15 years old (+19%, or +130 visits).

  • Mental health and gastrointestinal indicators are stable or declining.
