In Week 03 (January 12–18), activity at SOS Médecins clinics was marked by a sharp increase in procedures among children under 15 (+33%, or 8,231 procedures). Activity remained stable among adults, following the decline observed the previous week.

Among respiratory indicators: all indicators rose for children under 15, while they declined for adults for the second consecutive week.

Of particular note is an increase in cases for:

• Flu/flu-like syndrome for the second consecutive week (+41%, or +1,924 cases).

To a lesser extent, and within a trend that remains stable or declining, there was an increase in procedures for:

• Acute bronchitis (+57%, or +444 cases), pneumonia (+55%, or +96 cases), and asthma attacks (+57%, or +152 cases);

• Upper respiratory tract conditions (+37%, or +3,634 cases);

• Bronchiolitis in children under 1 year of age (+15%, or +23 cases).

Among other indicators, there was also an increase in:

• Fever and viral syndromes: isolated fever and malaise in all age groups (up 33%, or 230 cases, and up 40%, or 82 cases, respectively), as well as viral syndrome and conjunctivitis in children under 15 (up 42%, or 202 cases, and up 28%, or 142 cases, respectively).

• Gastrointestinal conditions: gastroenteritis (+25%, or +673 cases) and abdominal pain (+32%, or +90 cases) in children under 15, and diarrhea in children under 2 (+27%, or +18 cases). There was also an increase in vomiting across all age groups (+9%, or +61 visits) and abdominal pain among those aged 15–74 (+13%, or +161 visits).

• Mental health: anxiety among those aged 2–14 (+10%, or +85 visits) and among those aged 75 and older (+23%, or +33 visits).
