Socially disadvantaged people on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic

The study "The Impact of Social Disadvantage on SARS-CoV-2 Infection Dynamics in France Between May 2020 and April 2021" highlighted the significance of social and regional inequalities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the most disadvantaged residential areas, the incidence of infection with the virus and test positivity rates were higher, while testing rates were lower. These differences were particularly pronounced in densely populated cities and, to a lesser extent, in moderately populated municipalities.
