Violence among school-aged youth.

According to the INPES Health Barometer survey, 10.5% of boys and 4% of girls aged 12 to 25 who are currently in school have committed an act of violence—such as hitting or physically injuring someone—in the past twelve months. Looking at trends over the past two years, violent behavior has remained stable among boys but has risen slightly among girls. These acts of violence are more common among middle school students than among high school students. [article excerpt]
