Social and health workers in the National Education System: professionals dedicated to promoting student health.
Over the past few decades, the roles of social and health care professionals—doctors, nurses, and social workers—within the French Ministry of Education have changed significantly. Their work increasingly involves addressing students’ overall well-being: physical and mental health, self-esteem and resources, as well as their physical and social environments. Agnès Ducros emphasizes that these professionals must be well-trained to meet what appears to be a significant challenge.
