Lons-le-Saunier Maternity Ward: Two Hours of Skin-to-Skin Contact to "Start Life Off Right"

At the maternity ward in Lons-le-Saunier, newborns spend the first two hours of their lives in "skin-to-skin" contact with their mothers. The ward has been organized to promote the bonding process between mother and child, with the aim of empowering parents to take an active role in welcoming their newborn. Introduction to breastfeeding is part of this process. This relies on the training and approach of the healthcare professionals in this department, which holds the “Baby-Friendly Hospital” designation.
