Local and organic products in institutional food service in Lons-le-Saunier.
The municipal food service in Lons-le-Saunier serves 5,000 meals a day to schoolchildren, homebound seniors, and hospitals. Most of the ingredients, including water, are locally sourced, and more than 20% of these meals are organic. An active participant in the National Nutrition and Health Program (PNNS) since 2007, Lons is committed to making high-quality food accessible to as many people as possible, while supporting local fair trade and without significant additional costs to the municipal budget.
