"Life Skills Education" Program.

With the overall goal of reducing teenage pregnancies and abortions and preventing sexual violence in Martinique, the program—carried out in partnership with the Martinique Committee for Prevention and Health Education, the Ministry of Education, and the DDASS—was launched in the department’s 8th-grade classes, reaching approximately 7,000 adolescents aged 12 to 18. The aim is to increase basic knowledge of the human body, encourage young people to voice their questions, address their concerns, and foster parent-child communication. A questionnaire survey was used to assess the concerns and information needs of young people. Emphasis is also placed on the training needs of those involved (biology teachers, school doctors, nurses, etc.).
