Guidelines for evaluating the effectiveness of preventive health measures

The effectiveness of preventive interventions must be demonstrated in real-world settings to ensure that they deliver the expected benefits to the population. Several evaluation methods exist, with varying levels of evidence, that allow for estimating the health gains resulting from an intervention. Quantitative evaluation differs from other approaches, such as learning from experience and qualitative methodologies. The latter provide valuable insights into the context in which a program is implemented and the conditions under which it has the greatest impact.
