Clermont-Ferrand: A violence prevention program in middle schools.
A violence prevention program, inspired by a program created in Nice, has been in place for four years at a middle school in Clermont-Ferrand. Delivered by educational staff from the school and the neighborhood—who have received specialized training—this program seeks to avoid one-size-fits-all approaches, engage with students in an interactive manner, and mobilize the social and educational network. The dense network of community organizations in the working-class neighborhood where the middle school is located is a key factor in its success. Interview with Élisabeth Stollsteiner, who coordinates this initiative.
