Alma: Listening to the Plight of Elderly Victims of Abuse.

The Alma association has established fifty-two "counseling centers" across France to assist elderly and disabled people who are victims of abuse. Alma is working to break the code of silence because, on the one hand, the subject remains taboo among family members and care professionals; on the other hand, those who are abused most often...remain silent. Alma’s counselors listen to people, inform them, and advise them. This initiative, supported by the government, is currently being expanded.
