Overall Summary
In Week 27 (June 29–July 5, 2026), activity across both networks remained stable, except for a decline in emergency department visits among children under 2 and adults aged 75 and older, as well as a decrease in SOS Médecins calls for children aged 2–14. Activity across both networks nevertheless remained higher than in previous years among adults, particularly those aged 75 and older.
Following the sharp increases observed in Week 26 amid a heat wave, there has been a decline in heat-related indicators. Nevertheless, some indicators—such as fainting, dehydration, and hyperthermia/heat stroke—remain at levels higher than in previous years.
The number of visits was on the rise among children and adults for abdominal pain in both networks, as well as for gastroenteritis and isolated fever at SOS Médecins.
Among adults, there was an increase in emergency department visits for chest pain, as well as in healthcare utilization across both networks related to ENT conditions and mental health issues.
Nationally, in week 26 of 2026 (June 22–28), the number of deaths from all causes reported by INSEE was at least 35% higher than expected for all age groups and for people aged 15–64, 65–84, and 85 or older (unconsolidated data).
