Key Points

  • In week 42 (October 14–20, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly among children under 2 years of age (+5%, or +276 visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

  • Once again this week, cases related to seasonal respiratory indicators were stable or declining across all age groups. However, among children under 2 years of age, there was a very modest increase in cases for asthma attacks (+56%, or +25 cases), viral syndrome (+14%, or +16 cases), influenza/influenza-like illness (+20%, or +8 cases), and pneumonia (+38%, or +9 cases), as well as among those aged 75 and older (+10%, or +32 cases).

  • Among other indicators, there was an increase in procedures among children for isolated fever (+15%, or +83 procedures), ENT and stomatological conditions (+11%, or +48 procedures), vomiting (+13%, or +28 visits), and chickenpox (+24%, or +32 visits), as well as a continued increase in visits for conjunctivitis among children under 2 years of age (+9%, or +20 visits).

  • Among adults, there was also an increase in visits for urinary tract infections (19%) and abdominal pain (+15%) among those aged 75 and older, and for anxiety (+7%) among those aged 15–44.
