COVID-19
Regional viral circulation is on the rise. The significant increase in testing rates and incidence is partly due to the shift of testing to rapid antigen tests (RATs) conducted by pharmacies.
Chikungunya, dengue, Zika
Since the start of enhanced surveillance, 26 imported cases of dengue and 1 imported case of chikungunya have been identified in the region.
Three outbreaks of local dengue transmission and 51 cases have been identified in the region.
West Nile virus
Five cases of West Nile virus infection have been confirmed by the CNR. These are locally transmitted cases involving individuals residing in or having stayed in the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône (2) and Var (3).
In addition, four equine cases were also confirmed by the LNR in the Var department in August and September.
Bronchiolitis
5th week of the epidemic
Emergency departments - At the regional level, the proportion of visits for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age is rising sharply (26.2% vs. 20.2% in Week 45). This level exceeds that of all previous winter epidemic peaks.
At the departmental level, an upward trend is observed in all departments except Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (stable). The peak levels of previous epidemics have been exceeded in Var and reached in Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse.
SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age is on the rise (11.3% vs. 9.5% in Week 45). This level is comparable to the highest epidemic peaks of previous winter seasons.
At the departmental level, this increase is observed in the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Var, while the proportion of consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age remains stable in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Influenza
Period from Monday, November 14 to Sunday, November 20, 2022 (Week 46)
Emergency departments - Emergency department activity related to flu-like syndromes is slightly up.
SOS Médecins - The proportion of consultations for a diagnosis of influenza-like illness is on the rise.
Sentinelles Network - The incidence rate for influenza-like illness reported by the Sentinelles network in week 46, not yet finalized, is 179 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [105; 253]), a sharp increase (+57%).
