COVID-19
In Week 19, viral circulation is decreasing, but at a slower rate than the previous week. The number of active hospitalizations across all departments is declining, and the number of active ICU patients is decreasing very slightly.
The regional incidence rate is declining more sharply than the regional testing rate (in Week 19, 361 cases per 100,000 residents, a decrease of 17%, and 2,047 people tested per 100,000 residents, a decrease of 10%). The positivity rate is also decreasing (17.6%, a decrease of 1.6 percentage points).
Across all departments, the daily caseload is decreasing, including in general hospitalizations (83 hospitalizations as of May 15 vs. 101 on May 8). In intensive care, the caseload is slightly decreasing (6 hospitalizations on May 15 vs. 8 on May 8).
Flu
Second week post-epidemic.
Emergency departments — Five visits related to flu-like illness were recorded in emergency departments in Week 19, representing 0.3% of total emergency department visits. This proportion is stable compared to the previous week (0.3%). No hospitalizations were recorded in Week 19, as was the case the previous week.
SOS Médecins — Seven consultations for influenza-like illness were conducted by SOS Médecins in Week 19, representing 0.5% of total activity. This proportion is lower than in the previous week (1.9%).
Sentinelles Network — In Week 19, no physician in the Sentinelles network diagnosed any cases of influenza-like illness. However, the consolidated incidence in Week 18 was 57 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [5; 109]).
Virological surveillance — In total, since the start of surveillance (week 2021-S40), 3 rhinoviruses, 1 enterovirus, 1 parainfluenza virus, 4 metapneumoviruses, 3 SARS-CoV-2, 3 RSV, 6 influenza A H3N2, 5 seasonal coronaviruses, and 2 adenoviruses were isolated by Sentinelles network physicians from a total of 42 specimens.
