Prevalence of HIV infection among pregnant women in the Paris region. An anonymous, non-case-control study: PREVAGEST 1991–1993–1995–1997

The PREVAGEST study, an anonymous, unlinked survey of HIV seroprevalence among pregnant women, aims to examine changes in HIV seroprevalence over time in a population without any specific risk factors for HIV infection. The survey was conducted every two years starting in 1991 in the Paris region and starting in 1992 in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The results of the latest PREVAGEST survey wave are presented in this article, along with trends in HIV seroprevalence in the Paris region between 1991 and 1997. (adapted from the text).
