Chikungunya, dengue, West Nile virus, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of November 5, 2024.

From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.
In Occitanie, from May 1 to November 5, 2024, 152 imported cases of dengue, 2 imported cases of chikungunya, and 1 imported case of Zika were identified. Five locally acquired cases of dengue were also identified: 3 in Hérault and 2 in Pyrénées-Orientales (with possible transmission in Lozère).
Eleven locally acquired cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) infection were also identified in Occitanie: 8 in Hérault, including 1 neuroinvasive case (2 in Montpellier, 1 in Teyran, 1 in Vendargues, 2 in Restinclières, 1 in Baillargues, and 1 in Lattes), as well as 3 in the Gard (2 in Vauvert and 1 in Junas).
