Acute Respiratory Infections and Gastroenteritis in Occitanie. Bulletin of April 3, 2025.
Key Points
Acute Respiratory Infections
In Week 13, activity for acute respiratory infections across all age groups was slightly higher at SOS Médecins clinics and remained stable in hospitals. The increase observed at SOS Médecins was linked to an increase in cases of acute pneumonia and bronchitis. A significant portion of ARI activity was still linked to consultations for influenza viruses, although this proportion was down compared to the previous week.
Influenza and Influenza-Like Illness
This season, the epidemic lasted 12 weeks (from W50-2024 to W09-2025).
By Week 13, the influenza epidemic had ended in Occitanie. Indicators were declining both in urban areas and in hospitals.
Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea
The incidence rate of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice and emergency department visits for gastroenteritis were generally stable in Week 13 compared to the previous week.
Regarding SOS Médecins consultations, the decline in indicators observed since the previous week for this diagnosis was confirmed in Week 13, particularly among the youngest children (under 5 years of age).
