COVID-19

  • In Week 34, SARS-CoV-2 circulation appears to be stabilizing in Normandy. The incidence rate, adjusted for the effect of the public holiday, had dropped sharply in Week 33 to 151 per 100,000 inhabitants, reaching 135 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 34 (-11% compared to Week 33). The testing rate followed the same trend. The positivity rate was stable, down 0.5 percentage points in Week 34 compared to Week 33. These trends were similar across all departments and age groups.

  • In the pre-hospital setting, the number of interventions by SOS Médecins associations also saw a slight increase in Week 34 following a sharp decline in Week 33. The number of emergency department visits continued to decline. The number of new hospital admissions decreased across all departments but increased in critical care units. The number of deaths decreased in hospitals and remained stable at a low level in long-term care facilities.
