In Week 32, the spread of SARS-CoV-2 continued to slow in Normandy, although indicators remained at high levels.

The incidence rate (IR) continued to decline, reaching 172 per 100,000 inhabitants (-26% compared to Week 31). The testing rate and positivity rate were also decreasing, by 19% and 2.1 percentage points, respectively. The decline in the IR was observed in all departments. It decreased among those aged 19 and older and remained stable at lower levels among younger age groups.

In the pre-hospital setting, the number of calls handled by SOS Médecins and the number of emergency room visits were down. The number of new hospital admissions was slightly down across all departments and in critical care units. The number of deaths was decreasing in hospitals and increasing slightly in long-term care facilities.

  • 30 confirmed cases of monkeypox were reported in Normandy.
