Bronchiolitis SurveillanceIn mainland France, outpatient and hospital indicators continue to rise across all regions, confirming the epidemic nationwide.In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, rates of calls to SOS Médecins for bronchiolitis are well above statistical alert thresholds, and the alignment with other outpatient and hospital indicators suggests that the epidemic peak is likely to be reached this week in both regions.
Surveillance of influenza-like illnessIn mainland France, and more broadly in Europe, influenza activity remains low.In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, all hospital and outpatient indicators remain at low levels.
Surveillance of severe influenza cases in intensive care Since the start of surveillance, three severe cases caused by influenza A and B viruses have been reported to the InVS, and two patients have died. In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, no new cases were reported by intensive care units in week 48.
Surveillance of acute gastroenteritis In mainland France as well as in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, the various indicators remain at low levels.
Monitoring of carbon monoxide poisoning In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, following an increase in the number of reports between weeks 42 and 44, the number of cases has once again been low in recent weeks, at a level lower than in previous years.In Picardy, 5 cases have been reported since the start of the season, which is similar to what was observed in 2013 and 2014 for the same period.
