COVID-19

The incidence rate continued to rise sharply in week 02-2022, reaching 2,520 new cases per 100,000 residents. Viral circulation is increasing or remaining stable in nearly all age groups, with very sharp increases observed among school-aged children (+61% among 0-9-year-olds and +26% among 10-19-year-olds). The positivity rate is rising (21.2% compared to 17.1% in week 01-2022), but the number of people tested is decreasing (654,795 compared to 724,597 in week 01-2022).

Bronchiolitis

• OSCOUR: In week 02-2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 7%, down from the previous week. There were 112 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis recorded in week 02-2022, compared to 123 in week 01-2022. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 18% in week 02-2022, stable compared to the previous week.

• SOS Médecins: In week 02-2022, the proportion of SOS Médecins cases related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 6%, stable compared to week 01-2022.

Flu

• SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for influenza-like illness across all age groups remained stable in week 02-2022 compared to week 01-2022 (106 versus 132 in week 01-2022), representing 2% of activity (compared to 2% in week 01-2022). No hospitalizations for flu-like symptoms were observed following an SOS Médecins consultation, either in week 02-2022 or in week 01-2022.

• Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness across all age groups decreased in week 02-2022 compared to week 01-2022 (38 versus 75 in W01-2022), representing 0.2% of activity (compared to 0.3% in W01-2022). The proportion of hospitalizations for influenza-like illness among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 0.1% (compared to 0.2% in W01-2022).

Gastroenteritis

• SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for gastroenteritis across all age groups continued to decline in week 02-2022 compared to week 01-2022 (516 versus 587 in W01-2022), representing 9% of activity (compared to 10% in W01-2022). There was a single hospitalization for gastroenteritis following an SOS Médecins consultation in week 02-2022 (compared to no hospitalizations in week 01-2022).

• Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for GEA across all ages remained stable in week 02-2022 compared to week 01-2022 (420 versus 417 in week 01-2022), representing a 2% share of activity (compared to 2% in week 01-2022). The proportion of hospitalizations for GEA among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 2% (compared to 2% in Week 01-2022).
