Key Points

COVID-19

In week 06-2022, SARS-CoV-2 circulation declined, though it remains at a high level in mainland France, and the hospital situation remains concerning, with new admissions to general wards and intensive care units remaining at high levels. The hospital admission rate across all departments still exceeds the rate observed during the peak of the third wave.

  • OSCOUR®: In week 06-2022, the proportion of activity related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age in emergency departments was 4%, stable compared to the previous week. Gastroenteritis

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for gastroenteritis, all ages, stabilized in week 06-2022 compared to week 05-2022 (549 consultations versus 581 in week 05-2022), representing an activity share of 11% (versus 11% in week 05-2022). This increase is mainly driven by children under 5, for whom the number of consultations (212) and the share of activity (21%) in week 06 are among the highest observed in recent years for this age group.

  • Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for GEA, across all ages, continued to rise in week 06-2022 compared to week 05-2022 (677 visits compared to 609 in week 05-2022), representing a share of activity that remains stable at around 3% (compared to 3% in week 05-2022). The proportion of hospitalizations for GEA among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is 3% (compared to 3% in W05-22). Children under 5 years of age represent the most affected age group, with 502 visits for GEA (17% of the activity share).
