Epidemiological Surveillance in the Lorraine Region. Update as of April 17, 2014.

Highlights

  • All influenza-related indicators are declining, signaling the end of influenza activity.

  • In Week 15, the incidence estimated by the Unified Influenza Network is 41 cases per 100,000 people in Lorraine, below the epidemic threshold calculated for this week (96 cases per 100,000 people).

  • Activity related to gastroenteritis and bronchiolitis is decreasing across the region.

  • An increase in the number of asthma diagnoses was observed in Week 14 in the region’s emergency departments, as well as by the SOS Médecins 54 association. This trend did not continue into Week 15.

  • According to the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network, the four departments of Lorraine remain at very high risk for birch pollen allergies.
