In week 16 of 2021, the third week of the third lockdown, the number of new cases declined slightly (14,053 new cases compared to 15,899 new cases in week 15 of 2021). This slight decrease comes as the number of people tested also declined in week 16 of 2021 (189,731 compared to 212,189 people in week 15 of 2021), due in particular to the suspension of routine testing conducted by the Ministry of Education following the closure of schools since week 14-21 (the decline in testing activity is thus very sharp among those aged 0–9 and 10–19).
