COVID-19

The epidemic continues to slow down. Decrease in the incidence rate and positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate has dropped from 33.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 23 to 15.8 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 24. The positivity rate has fallen from 1.5% in Week 23 to 0.8% in Week 24. These indicators are declining across all age groups and departments. The proportion of suspected Alpha variant cases remains the majority, but cases with a mutation observed in the Delta variant (known as the Indian variant) are still a small minority. The other two mutations are also observed in the region, indicating diversity in the viruses currently circulating. Vaccination coverage stands at 53.3% for a single dose and 29.5% for a full course.

Extreme heat, heat wave

The Brittany region has been on green alert since the start of surveillance. In Brittany, a notable increase in emergency room and SOS Médecin indicators has been observed compared to last week, consistent with rising temperatures.

Gastroenteritis

Activity is low, within seasonal averages. SOS Médecins indicators are rising. There has been a decrease in the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week.
