Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of July 13, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

Increase in the incidence rate and positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate rose from 20.6 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 26 to 29.2 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 27. The positivity rate rose from 1.1% in Week 26 to 1.3% in Week 27. These indicators are on the rise across all departments (particularly in Finistère and Ille-et-Vilaine) and show a marked increase among 16- to 25-year-olds and a moderate increase among 26- to 35-year-olds. The proportion of suspected Delta variant (so-called Indian variant) cases is in the majority. More than 70% of screened positive tests indicated the presence of the L452R mutation associated, among other things, with the Delta variant. One type of case report is overrepresented: many clusters are linked to private or public events connected to people returning from vacations, primarily from Spain or Portugal. Vaccination coverage stands at 60.5% for a single dose and 44.4% for a full course.
