Health Monitoring in Brittany. Update as of August 10, 2021

Key Points

COVID-19

Increase in the incidence rate and increase in the positivity rate calculated from PCR and antigen tests. The incidence rate rose from 101.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 30 to 118.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 31. The positivity rate rose from 2.6% in Week 30 to 2.9% in Week 31. The incidence rate is rising across all departments and is high among those aged 15–34. More than 95% of screenings identify the L452R mutation. Consequently, the identified clusters also overwhelmingly involve cases carrying this mutation, particularly in nursing homes and at vacation destinations (campgrounds, summer camps, and vacation camps). Vaccination coverage stands at 72.8% for a single dose and 61.4% for a full course.
