Public Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of June 2, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation continues to decline in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, with incidence rates below the national average in all 8 departments, though this decline appears to be slowing. Sequencing results, which are limited in number (and therefore not representative of viral circulation), show that the BA.2 sublineage of the Omicron variant is nearly exclusive.
Regarding hospital activity, the number of new hospitalizations and the number of people currently hospitalized are declining. This trend is also observed among patients in critical care.
Influenza and Influenza-Like Illnesses
End of the flu epidemic in the region.
Acute gastroenteritis
The rate of gastroenteritis cases in emergency departments remains stable at around 1% but remains above the levels of the previous two seasons.
