Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of September 3, 2021
Key Points
COVID-19
The incidence rate in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region continues to decline but remains at a high level (still above 100 confirmed cases per 10,000 inhabitants) and remains below the national rate of 179 confirmed cases per 10,000 inhabitants. At the same time, there has been a slight decline in the testing rate, although testing activity remains at a high level. The regional positivity rate has stabilized at around 2.4%. The number of new hospitalizations is stable, while the number of new admissions to intensive care has declined slightly compared to last week. Reports of outbreaks from medical-social institutions (ESMS) appear to be stabilizing.
Legionellosis
In July 2021, 35 cases of Legionnaires’ disease were reported in the region through the mandatory reporting system, whereas the number of cases reported during July in previous years was much lower (6 to 13 cases in July from 2018 to 2020). A decline in the number of reported cases was then observed starting in August 2021 (2 to 7 cases reported by departments in July 2021 vs. 0 to 4 cases in August 2021)
