Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of September 10, 2021

Key Points

COVID-19

  • At the regional level:

    • After reaching 138 cases per 105 residents in the second week of August (Week 32, 2021), the regional incidence rate has been declining for the third consecutive week. It fell below the threshold of 100 cases per 105 residents in Week 35 and remains lower than the national incidence rate (137 cases per 105 residents). The regional testing rate is down slightly but remains high (particularly among those aged 15–44). As schools reopen this week, the regional positivity rate is trending downward across all age groups but remains high among those under 15 (9.9%).

    • The number of new hospitalizations and new admissions to intensive care has been stable for the past three weeks. Reports of outbreaks from medical-social institutions (ESMS) also appear to be stabilizing.

  • At the departmental level:

    • Departmental incidence rates range from 39 per 105 inhabitants (Nièvre) to 141 per 105 inhabitants (Territoire de Belfort).

    • Two departments have an incidence rate above 100 per 105 inhabitants (two fewer than last week: Doubs and Territoire de Belfort).
