Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of October 28, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

At the regional level, the incidence rate appears to be stabilizing in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and remains below the threshold of 50 per 105 residents (33 per 105 in S42) and the national incidence rate (55 per 105 residents). The positivity rate is rising slightly amid a decline in the testing rate (nearly 20%), likely due to the discontinuation of reimbursement for tests (a measure that took effect on October 15, at the end of week 41). Incidence and positivity rates by age group appear to be stabilizing following the sharp increase observed last week among those aged 65 and older.

The number of new hospitalizations for COVID-19 is stable, and the number of new admissions to critical care continues to rise slightly (while remaining at a low level). The data update provided by medical-social institutions (ESMS) confirms that there are no active outbreaks this week.

Flu

Flu-related activity at SOS Médecins and emergency departments in the region is currently low and in line with trends from the previous two seasons. No severe cases of flu have been reported by the 8 sentinel intensive care units.

Bronchiolitis

Indicators from SOS Médecins are rising this week but remain within the ranges observed in the previous two seasons, while those from emergency departments continue to rise and exceed activity levels from the same period in the previous two seasons.

Gastroenteritis

The percentage of gastroenteritis cases among diagnoses made by SOS Médecins is rising this week, as is the percentage reported by hospital emergency departments, with the latter exceeding the levels seen in the two previous seasons during the same period.
