Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of November 25, 2021.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • At the regional level:

    • Acceleration in the rise of Covid-19 viral circulation in the BFC region (6th consecutive week of increase), mirroring the trend observed at the national level.

    • The regional positivity rate has reached 5.1%, and the adjusted testing rate has increased (3,390, or +24% compared to Week 1) since the decline observed in Week 42 (discontinuation of reimbursement for tests and school holidays).

  • At the departmental level:

    • The adjusted incidence rate is above the alert threshold (50 per 100,000 inhabitants) and rising in all departments.

    • The positivity rate is now rising in all departments, ranging from 3.8% in Côte d’Or to 6.7% in Saône-et-Loire. This positivity rate is high among symptomatic individuals: ranging from 13% in Côte d’Or to 22% in Jura and Saône-et-Loire (it has doubled in one week in these two departments).

  • This situation is summarized by the estimated effective R-value in BFC, calculated using SIDEP data (with a 7-day moving window), which is significantly greater than 1 in S46: 1.75 (1.70–1.80).

Influenza

  • SOS Médecins’ flu-related activity remains low and stable, still in line with trends from the previous two seasons. This week, activity in the region’s emergency departments has increased, slightly exceeding levels from the two previous years. Currently, one severe case of flu has been reported by a sentinel intensive care unit.

Bronchiolitis

  • Activity among SOS Médecins associations has decreased slightly this week but remains above the levels observed in the two previous seasons.

  • Emergency department activity is also decreasing but remains higher than that observed during the same period in the two previous seasons

Gastroenteritis

  • The percentage of consultations for gastroenteritis at SOS Médecins clinics has stabilized this week (Figure 5). The rate of visits for gastroenteritis in emergency departments continues to rise. Activity is above the levels observed during the same period in the two previous seasons.
