The rate of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis has increased slightly and remains above the levels observed during the same period in the two previous seasons
COVID-19
After 9 weeks of increase, SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation is tending to stabilize at a high level in Week 50 of 2021 (TI=498/100,000 inhabitants, or 11%; TP=7.6%, or 5%). The weekly number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has decreased, reaching 13,859 cases in Week 50 (1,603 fewer cases compared to Week 49 of 2021, or 11%).
This trend applies to all age groups. With testing rates stabilizing, the age group of 65 and older (209 per 100,000 inhabitants, 21%) shows the largest decrease in incidence rate. The highest positivity rate is still found among those aged 25–44 (9.5%) and those aged 45–64 (8.5%).
SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate throughout the region, particularly in the eastern part of the region. Doubs (670/100,000 inhabitants), the Territoire de Belfort (530/100,000 inhabitants), Jura (515/100,000 inhabitants), and Haute-Saône (509/100,000 inhabitants) have the highest incidence rates. However, incidence rates across all departments are stabilizing or decreasing in the second half of 2021, with the exception of Haute-Saône (+9%).
