Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of August 27, 2021

Key Points

COVID-19

At the regional level

This week, the incidence rate in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region has dropped slightly, remaining above 100 confirmed cases per 105 residents and still below the national rate of 216 confirmed cases per 105 residents. At the same time, there has been a slight decline in the testing rate, although testing remains at a high level (>5,000 per 105). The regional positivity rate has stabilized around 2.5%, indicating that the virus continues to circulate. These trends are observed across all age groups and all departments. The number of new hospitalizations and new admissions to intensive care has declined slightly compared to last week. Reports of outbreaks from medical-social institutions (ESMS) appear to be stabilizing.

At the departmental level

Departmental incidence rates range from 80 per 105 inhabitants (Nièvre) to 219 per 105 inhabitants (Territoire de Belfort). Five departments have an incidence rate above 100 per 105 inhabitants: Côte d’Or, Doubs, Jura, Yonne, and Territoire de Belfort.
