Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of April 28, 2022.
Key Points
COVID-19
The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is slowing in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, but remains at a high level (974 per 100,000 inhabitants, down 29%). Incidence and positivity rates are decreasing across all age groups—particularly among the youngest—amid a decline in testing, and in all departments. Departmental incidence rates range from 789.8 (Territoire de Belfort) to 1,122.7 per 100,000 inhabitants (Jura).
Acute Gastroenteritis
The rate of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis increased slightly this week and remains at a high level compared to previous seasons.
Influenza
The region has been in an epidemic phase since Week 10.
Activity reported by SOS Médecins associations and emergency departments continues to decline but remains higher than activity observed during the same period in previous seasons. This trend should be interpreted with caution due to a lack of data transmission from SOS Médecins for two out of four associations since February 16, 2022.
One new severe case of influenza reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network this week (a total of 24 ICU admissions since late 2021).
No new outbreaks of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in group settings (9 ongoing outbreaks out of 32 reported since September 1, 2021. Among the reports, 8 are linked to influenza).
