Key Points

COVID-19

The COVID-19 outbreak in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes continued to slow down in week 40 (October 4–10, 2021):

  • 20% decrease in the regional incidence rate: 39 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

  • Higher viral circulation in the departments of Ardèche, Rhône, and Haute-Savoie (incidence rate ≥50 per 100,000 inhabitants)

  • Slight increase in new hospitalizations for COVID-19 but a 23% decrease in critical care admissions and a 7% decrease in hospital deaths

  • Increase in vaccination coverage with at least 1 dose against COVID-19 (75.6%, +0.3 percentage points) and full vaccination series (73.7%, +0.5 percentage points)

Gastroenteritis

  • Regional trends: on the rise

  • In hospital settings (Oscour® network emergency facilities): moderate activity

  • In private practice (SOS Médecins associations): low activity

Bronchiolitis

Transitioning to a pre-epidemic phase.

Flu

No flu epidemic.
