Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation
Most epidemiological surveillance indicators point to a continued slow decline in the epidemic. The increase in the weekly number of clinically suggestive cases over the past three weeks is not confirmed by other indicators and may be linked to the emergence of chikungunya. This epidemic remains widespread throughout mainland Guadeloupe and the nearby islands. The situation still corresponds to Phase 4 Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation of co-circulation of the dengue and chikungunya viruses, it is important to remind the public of the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and protecting oneself against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
