COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of October 7, 2022

Key Points

  • One month after the start of the school year and the resumption of economic activity, no major impact has been observed on the epidemic trend in Martinique. Virological and hospital indicators have remained at relatively constant levels during this period.

  • In Week 39, the improvement in the epidemiological situation continued across the territory, with a decrease in all virological indicators. Incidence and positivity rates were declining, while COVID-19 testing activity also decreased. The highest incidence rate was recorded among those aged 30–39. The 7-day rolling effective R (from September 25 to October 1, 2022) was 0.77—95% CI [0.70–0.84], once again significantly below 1.

  • In hospitals, the situation remained favorable. An increase in the number of visits made by SOS Médecins was nevertheless observed in week 39.
