COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of June 30, 2022.

Key Points

The decline in all virological indicators that began in Week 24 continued into Week 25. The peak incidence of this wave appears to have been reached in Week 23.

The incidence rate and positivity rate decreased by 24% and 4.3 percentage points, respectively, against a backdrop of declining testing (-14%). The 30–39 age group recorded the highest incidence rate. The 7-day rolling effective R (from June 19 to 25) was significantly below 1 for the second consecutive week (0.77 – 95% CI [0.75–0.79]). This confirmed the decline of the epidemic during this period. Regarding the proportion of the L452R variant, it was found in 84% of screened samples in Week 25, compared to 80% in Week 24.

In hospitals, indicators remained at high levels in week 25. The number of visits to adult emergency departments increased, while the number of new admissions to intensive care units decreased in week 25. The number of new deaths (6) remained high.
