COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique, July 2, 2021

Key Points

The slight increase in viral circulation continued last week (June 21–27). However, the positivity rate and incidence rate remained below the alert thresholds for testing, which have been relatively stable for the past month. In hospitals and community healthcare settings, indicators remained at low levels.

This week (June 28–July 2), the positivity rate has exceeded the vigilance threshold, and the incidence rate is above the alert threshold.

The situation must be monitored very closely given this trend and the presence of VOCs/VOIs in the region. Individual prevention measures, collective containment efforts, and the acceleration of vaccination are key to breaking this cycle.
