COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique, April 7, 2022
Key Points
The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 continued to decline in Week 13. A decline in all virological indicators was still observed. Incidence and positivity rates were falling amid a decrease in testing. The 15–44 age group had the highest incidence. The effective reproduction number (R_e) calculated for samples collected between March 27 and April 2, 2022, was 0.64 [0.62–0.67], significantly below 1, continuing to confirm a decline in the epidemic.
In hospitals, COVID-19 activity in adult emergency departments remained stable.
However, the number of new hospitalizations was increasing, while activity in the intensive care unit remained low and stable.
