Key points
Guadeloupe
The epidemiological situation regarding COVID-19 improved further last week, with the incidence rate declining and remaining at the alert threshold, while testing rates decreased slightly. The effective reproduction number (R_e), calculated from data reported in SI-DEP for samples collected between October 10 and 16, remained significantly below 1: 0.76 [0.66–0.87]. In hospitals, the number of admissions across all departments and to intensive care units remained stable. Excess mortality, across all ages and causes of death, was recorded from week 2021-30 through week 2021-38 (data currently being consolidated). The Delta variant is the predominant strain circulating.
Saint Martin
Incidence and positivity rates were stable in week 2021-41, with increased testing. In hospitals, the number of new hospitalizations and the number of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 were slightly increasing.
Saint Barthélemy
In week 2021-41, SARS-CoV-2 circulation remained at a low level. No new positive cases were detected. No new hospital admissions or deaths were recorded in SIVIC during week 2021-41.
