Vaccination campaign in Mayotte: more than 15,000 children seen and 8,500 vaccinated
Through June 30, 2018, Santé publique France and the Indian Ocean Regional Health Agency are conducting a large-scale vaccination campaign for children under the age of 6 to reduce the risk of an epidemic. Throughout the campaign, families are encouraged to visit the temporary vaccination centers set up for this purpose. After several weeks, attendance at the vaccination centers remains high, demonstrating strong family participation in the vaccination campaign regardless of the centers’ locations on the island. An epidemiological update is published weekly, providing a status report on the situation.

Between May 22 and June 10, 15,537 children were seen at one of the 20 vaccination centers that opened during this period
Of the 15,537 children seen at a center, 8,548 were vaccinated (representing 55.7% who needed their vaccination status updated)
15,910 vaccines were administered (an average of 2 vaccines per child): 5,912 Infanrix Hexa; 5,433 MMR; 4,565 Prevenar
