The crucial role of early interactions in the formation of early bonds
During the first weeks of life, the adult and the newborn get to know each other and build a shared history. It is through these early interactions that the baby develops a sense of emotional security, provided that their “primary caregivers” are sufficiently attentive and available—both emotionally and mentally. It is not so much the duration of these interactions as the richness and diversity of the shared moments that matter. For the parent(s), this means setting aside everyday worries—something that is not always possible for people in vulnerable situations.
